Not just sunlight.. But take a walk on a snowy night in the burbs. All light reflected :) it is energising.. Even in the boonies on a moon night.. It is not pitch dark..
Yes the snow is a giant reflector..

Contrast that to camping in late summer / fall.. It gets so dark you cannot see the hand at the end of your arm..

I no after al the years that my mood gets better sooner with early snow..

It isnot just snow.. I can feel the deterioration in length of day bottoming by end of week 1 December.. I start to feel better actually a bit pre solstice.. After Dec 21.. Each day is a little brighter :)
