They are not made from rocks but rather from the decayed organism itself. People often believe dinosaur bones make fossil fuels, but that is generally incorrect too, says Eric Roberts, a geologist at the Colorado School of Mines. Although a dinosaur could become a fuel, there simply weren’t enough of them to create the fossil fuel reserves that we have today.

Instead, most fossil fuels were formed from much more abundant life forms: algae and plants. Because these organisms get their energy directly from the sun, they have a higher concentration of energy stored in their chemical bonds.

scienceline.org

[longz] Grok===>> What are fossil fuels? They are called "fossil" fuels because they originate from the fossilized organic matter preserved in Earth's crust.Main Types of Fossil Fuels

Coal: Formed primarily from the compressed remains of land plants (like ferns and trees) in swampy environments from the Carboniferous period (~300–360 million years ago). It is a solid, carbon-rich material.

Oil (Petroleum): Liquid hydrocarbons formed from marine microorganisms (plankton, algae) that accumulated on ocean floors. Over time, heat and pressure transformed them into oil.

Natural Gas: Mostly methane (CH4), often found with oil deposits. It can form from the same organic sources as oil or from coal, under higher temperatures.

How They Form

Accumulation: Dead organisms sink and get buried under layers of sediment in oxygen-poor environments (preventing full decomposition).

Transformation: Over millions of years, heat (from Earth's geothermal gradient) and pressure (from overlying rock) chemically alter the organic matter through a process called diagenesis and catagenesis.

Maturation: Kerogen (an intermediate waxy material) breaks down into hydrocarbons. Depending on temperature and depth:

Lower temperatures ? more oil.

Higher temperatures ? more natural gas.

Migration and Trapping: The resulting oil and gas often migrate through porous rock until trapped by impermeable layers (cap rocks), forming exploitable reservoirs.

Fossil fuels are non-renewable because their formation takes geological timescales (millions of years), far slower than human consumption rates. Why Are They Important?Fossil fuels power much of the modern world:

Energy: They provide ~80% of global primary energy (as of recent data), used for electricity generation, transportation (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel), heating, and industrial processes.

Products: Refined into plastics, fertilizers, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, asphalt, and thousands of everyday items.

Advantages: High energy density, relatively easy to extract/transport/store, and established infrastructure.

Environmental and Other ConsiderationsBurning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor, and pollutants (SO2, NOx, particulates). This contributes to:

Climate change (greenhouse gas emissions).

Air pollution and associated health impacts.

Environmental concerns like oil spills, mining impacts, and habitat disruption.

They also release ancient carbon into the atmosphere that was sequestered for eons, unlike renewable sources (solar, wind, biomass) which cycle carbon more quickly.Alternatives and Future ContextEfforts to transition away from fossil fuels focus on renewables, nuclear, electrification, and efficiency improvements. However, fossil fuels remain dominant due to their reliability, cost-effectiveness in many sectors, and the challenge of scaling alternatives for baseload power, aviation, shipping, and heavy industry. "Fossil fuel phase-out" or "net-zero" goals are debated in policy circles, balancing energy security, economic impacts, and emissions reductions. In short, fossil fuels are concentrated, stored solar energy from ancient life, unlocked through combustion. They enabled the Industrial Revolution and modern civilization but come with significant trade-offs in sustainability.

[VisionsOfSugarplums] "Most of the fossil fuel material we use today comes from algae, bacteria, and p...

"Most of the fossil fuel material we use today comes from algae, bacteria, and plant"

britannica.com

[longz] What are fossil fuels? They are primarily composed of hydrocarbons (compounds of hydrogen and carbon) and are extracted from the Earth's crust to be burned for energy.
NRDC +3

The Three Main Types
The specific type of fuel depends on the original organic material and the amount of heat and pressure it endured:
Smithsonian Ocean +1

Coal: A solid rock formed primarily from ancient land-based vegetation, like trees and ferns, that died in swampy forests during the Carboniferous Period (~300 million years ago).

Oil (Petroleum): A liquid fuel formed from the remains of microscopic marine organisms, such as plankton and algae, that sank to the ocean floor and were buried under layers of sediment.

Natural Gas: A gaseous fuel, mainly composed of methane, often found alongside oil deposits. It typically forms at higher temperatures and pressures than oil.
Smithsonian Ocean +4

How They Form
Fossilization into fuel occurs through a millions-of-years-long process:

Burial: Organisms die and are quickly covered by sediment (mud, sand, or silt), preventing normal decay due to a lack of oxygen (anaerobic conditions).

Heat and Pressure: Over geological time, accumulating layers of sediment and rock exert immense weight and heat on the organic matter.

Chemical Transformation: This intense "cooking" process breaks down the complex molecules into simpler hydrocarbons like kerogen, which eventually turns into oil, gas, or coal.
Wikipedia +4

Key Characteristics

Non-renewable: Because they take millions of years to form, they cannot be replenished on a human timescale.

High Energy Density: They contain a large amount of stored chemical energy, which made them the primary drivers of the Industrial Revolution.

Environmental Impact: Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide (

), a greenhouse gas that is the leading cause of global climate change.
Wikipedia +3

[VisionsOfSugarplums] What Is a Fossil? While war is always a tragedy, there is nothing much we can do as individual investors except to accept reality and invest based on the cards we are dealt. While the focus has been on oil lately, we think that gold and silver still make excellent hedges in this environment, particularly after their pullback. One company had a massive silver discovery that was overlooked this week. This gives investors an opportunity to buy in before it breaks through new 52-week highs. Our last blog featured oil and hydrogen stocks, with our top hydrogen pick being Charbone Hydrogen Corporation (CH.V)(CHHYF). Despite the hydrogen sector imploding since then, with Quebec Innovative Materials Corp. (QIMC.CN) (QIMCF) dropping by nearly half, CH has increased in price as it advances as a commercial producer. That goes to show that when you chase value instead of hype, you can protect your portfolio from major losses. If you like our picks you can also follow this blog by clicking the follow button on the top of the left hand panel. We have 129 followers so far on here as well as 1,039 followers on our ValueTrades blog. This was one of the largest finds of silver ever and shows that its Langis property still has untapped economic potential despite being a historically drilled mine. The stock has been on a steady move up since the announcement, increasing from $1.00 to $1.26 in the three days since the announcement. While this is impressive given the overall market sentiment, we think the downturn muted some of BBB's breakout potential. It traded as high as $1.39 Friday morning and looked ready to break out to a new 52-week high. However, the accelerated market crash in the afternoon took most of those gains and the stock closed at $1.26. We think this represents a buying opportunity on the stock as these incredible results won't be overlooked for too much longer. We think a fair price is $2.00 or about $140 million market cap. This is based on the massive discovery, other strong results and the potential for more discoveries of this ilk upon further drilling.

In addition to BBB, there are five other must-own stocks heading into this week.

Stock #1: Black Gold Exploration Corp. (BGX.CN): We gave this stock #1 standing in our last blog two weeks ago and the fundamentals have only gotten better. It has whipped around between $0.09 and $0.17 on low volume during that time, but overall has dropped two cents from $0.12 to $0.10. We think this is shocking given the new reality for oil and the positive updates from the company. Warrant exercises may be creating some overhang, but even if every single warrant is exercised, the float would be only 26 million. It's 17 million right now. The stock is trading at a $2 million market cap, essentially shell status for a producing oil company in the United States.

Last June the company became a producer with the Fritz 2-30 Well coming online. It has a 10% interest in this well and it is located in the Illinois basin, ideally positioned to take advantage of the desire of the United States to boost domestic energy production. Looking at a chart where the 52-week high is $2.80, one can clearly see the upside potential here with a prolonged spike in oil prices.

The company issued an operational update several days ago, detailing progress made at Fritz 2-30 as well as its El Carmen project in Argentina. The stock immediately launched over 50% once it started trading again, but since got pounded down on light volume. In this environment for oil, these depressed valuations will not last. Given the low valuation, small float and thin trading, any level of sustained buying will blow this stock up. Warrants getting exercised will bring some needed cash into the company. This remains one of the top plays on the CSE right now and we think those who ignore it will regret doing so. We think a fair price is $1.00, or about a $25 million market cap assuming all warrants get exercised.

Stock #2: New Zealand Energy Corp. (NZ.V) (NZERF): We initially recommended NZ's partner Monumental Energy Corp. (MNRG.V) (MNMRF). That pick has been a success, moving from $0.08 to as high as $0.16 and settling in at $0.13 on Friday. We think NZ holds more value at these relative prices because it retains 75% of the revenue compared to MNRG which holds a 25% royalty in exchange for funding NZ's obligations for various wells in the Taranaki Basin. Substantial progress has been made, with the Ngaere-1 well stabilizing at 120 barrels of oil per day and with successful initial production at the Waihapa H1 well. Waihapa H1 is particularly compelling because the flow rate continues to rise. For instance, the NZ press release stated that production was 553 barrels per day but the MNRG press release stated 568 barrels per day, showing that these rates are increasing in real time.

Considering the active drilling and production at multiple wells, we expect that both NZ and MNRG will continue to be in the news with positive updates at the perfect time to be releasing news about new global sources of easily accessible oil far away from the Middle East. We think a fair price on NZ is $1.00, or about a $55 million market cap.

Stock #3: AleAnna, Inc. (ANNA): ANNA is a U.S. listing that Canadians need to get their hands on. Unlike BGX or NZ, this stock is not flying under-the-radar whatsoever, and therefore isn't as much of a discounted oil and gas play as those other two. The stock ripped 20% to close at $8.51 on Friday, building on several consecutive days of strong trading since the $3's. What makes ANNA special is that it is a producer of natural gas and RNG in Italy that is profitable and has seen incredible revenue growth since ramping up production. It achieved $11.2 million in revenue in Q3 2025 compared to $648,000 in revenue for Q3 2024 and $4 million in revenue for Q2 2025. That $11.2 million in revenue generated $5.3 million in net income. So the company was already substantially profitable while prices were low for natural gas in Europe. Those prices have nearly doubled since. QatarEnergy declared force majeure on some of its LNG contracts due to the war, including those to Italy. That has left the country scrambling to try to secure more supply from Algeria. An increase in domestic supply is one lever the country can pull without being at the mercy of natural gas exporters. This bodes very well for ANNA as the company should be expected to achieve substantial revenue growth both from increased prices and higher production. We think a fair price on ANNA is $20.00, or about a $1.3 billion market cap.

Stock #4: Perimeter Medical Imaging AI, Inc. (PINK.V) (PYNKF): PINK was the other stock mentioned in our blog with MNRG. Unlike MNRG, it hasn't been successful so far, with the stock price having dropped to the mid-$0.40s from the mid-$0.50s. This is understandable given the current market dynamics. We view this as a buying opportunity. PINK's FDA approval is a game changer. Claire is the first AI-enabled imaging device approved in the United States for intraoperative breast cancer margin assessment. The technology received Breakthrough Device designation from the FDA and is designed to enhance surgeons' ability to detect difficult-to-see cancer during breast-conserving surgery and potentially reduce the need for re-operations.

About 20% of all breast cancer surgeries need a repeat operation. That's because surgeons use a combination of physical examination, and in limited cases intraoperative pathology to assess margins before sending specimens to pathology for final evaluation. As a result, patients may wait up to a week or more to learn whether margins are clear or additional surgery is required. Claire is designed to identify areas of concern during surgery, helping surgeons determine whether to remove more tissue before completing the procedure.

This AI device is going to save hospitals and insurers money and give patients better piece of mind that their surgery went right the first time. This FDA approval positions the company at the forefront of AI-enabled intraoperative imaging and marks the first commercialization of its proprietary OCT-AI platform. The Company's patented wide-field OCT technology, proprietary dataset, and integrated AI capabilities target an estimated 300,000 annual U.S. breast cancer surgeries, while providing a scalable foundation for expansion into additional cancer indications over time. This is the first step toward addressing a significantly larger global opportunity across additional cancer surgeries, biopsy procedures, and pathology applications.

We think a fair price on PINK is $2.50, or about a $330 million market cap. PINK is more speculative than the above stocks that's why it is ranked lower despite a higher upside target. Earnings are due out on March 31st, where we expect important business updates. We think it is wise to be positioned by then.

Stock #5: Sparc Al Inc. (SPAI.CN) (SPAIF): SPAI has already had a strong run from $0.20. But one can't just look at stock price, they need to look at market cap. With 25 million shares outstanding, SPAI has a $60 million market cap. This is peanuts for a company with a recently commercialized drone technology platform that doesn't rely on GPS. On March 19th, SPAI announced an order for the company's GPS-denied navigation solution from a UAE group supporting defense operations. For comparison, Swarmer, Inc (SWMR), a creator of a software stack that enables an operator to operate hundreds of drones in a swarm at once, has a $430 million market cap despite only having a little over $300,000 in revenue for each of 2024 and 2025. Drone software companies are valued very aggressively right now and SWMR's move since its IPO has been from the situation in Iran. Despite the fact that SWMR's area of focus is actually in Ukraine. SPAI is actually the company that has signed a war-related security contract in the Middle East. We think a fair price on SPAI is $10.00, or about a $250 million market cap. This still puts it below the valuation of SWMR.
Disclosure: We are long BBB.V, PINK.V, BGX.CN, NZ.V, ANNA, SPAI.CN

Posted by NNR at 01:54
Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook Share to Pinterest

Older Post Home

Follow This Report

Total Pageviews

501,315

Disclaimer: While Nasdaqnewsreports endeavors to provide investors with above average returns through the wide dissemination of important news updates and in-depth financial analysis and due diligence on certain small cap companies, penny stock investing is risky in nature; you may lose some or all of the money that is invested. [/X]

“I’m the Prime Minister of Spain. This Is Why the West Needs Migrants,” Pedro Sanchez headlined his New York Times op-ed. “The West needs people. Currently, few of its countries have a rising population growth rate. Unless they embrace migration, they will experience a sharp demographic decline.”

Spain’s demographic decline is helped along by the nearly 1,000 euthanasia cases a year. Those who die are replaced with the growing flood of Muslim championed by Sanchez. The West needs people, but only certain kinds of people, and it euthanizes the wrong kind.

Spain’s population is set to shrink by one more as Noelia Castillo Ramos, a 25-year-old girl in a wheelchair, has her life ended before it even really began under the authority of the state.

Prime Minister Sanchez claimed that migrants “care for aging parents, work at small and large companies, harvest the food that’s on the table.”

Migrants also raped Noelia.

Her parents lost custody of her after they divorced when she was only thirteen and she bounced around between foster care and government shelters. At twenty-one, she was gang raped in a shelter that had been occupied by the migrants whom the Spanish government had welcomed into the country.

Noelia tried to commit suicide by jumping from the fifth floor, but survived and ended up as a paraplegic in a wheelchair. According to her father, she needs psychological help, but according to the Sanchez regime, the European Court of Human Rights and the elites, she needs to die.

An El-Pais article, Spain’s biggest papers, began with the sentence, “Noelia should be dead.”

The West needs Muslim migrants, but it doesn’t need Noelia or any of the other girls they assault. The West needs migrants, and it needs its native population to die off or be killed.

Noelia’s case has been Spain’s first legal battle over euthanasia. Her father, represented by a pro-bono Catholic legal group, has been fighting unsuccessfully for her life against the euthanizers. The girl had signed a document brought to her by two nuns requesting that she not be killed, but the hospital rushed to bring in a notary to annul the document and call for death.

After a two year legal battle, Noelia’s fate has been sealed. She has spent twelve years of her young life in the care of the state and now the state will kill her to make way for more migrants.

In 2022, the year in which Noeila was gang raped and put on the path to ending her life, tens of thousands of migrants invaded Spain, and the country ‘gained’ nearly half a million new residents in just six months, while a quarter of a million immigrated out of the country.

Most of the migrant invaders are coming from the Islamic states of Algeria, Mali, Morocco, Senegal and Somalia: where rape is habitual and non-Muslim women are seen as fair game.

There were 1,249 rapes in Spain in 2016. In 2022, the year Noelia was gang raped, there were 2,865 rapes. In 2023, rapes climbed to 4,890. The quadrupling of rapes in a country in 6 years has been with suggestions that Spain needs more feminism, legal reforms and protest rallies.

And, of course, more of the Muslim mass migration that all of these leftist groups support.

After three American tourists from Ohio were raped by Afghan migrants in Spain, the United States Embassy in Madrid issued a warning about the risk of sexual assault. The embassy warned of systematic sexual assaults “against young U.S. citizen visitors and students throughout Spain” and reported that it had dealt with six sexual assault cases in just one month.

Muslim migrants who commit sexual assaults have little to worry about from the Spanish legal system which is weighed towards migrants and against their victims.

Last year, a Senegalese Muslim migrant who raped a 14-year-old girl was released with a fine.

This year, the Sanchez regime announced a plan to legalize 500,000 migrants even as the European Court of Human Rights approved the killing of Noelia Castillo Ramos.

Spain’s government has argued that it will need 25 million migrants over the next generation. A system for rapidly and smoothly killing their victims will be equally important for the transition.

How many will have to die, hundreds of thousands, millions, to make way for the migrants?

There are more Noelias across Europe.

In the Netherlands, Noa Pothoven’s case made headlines when she repeatedly applied for euthanasia after suffering multiple rapes, and eventually starved herself to death. In France, Lola Daviet, a 12-year-old girl, was found decapitated after she was raped by a female Algerian Muslim illegal alien, then stabbed to death with scissors and stuffed into a suitcase. Lola’s father died of grief. The Muslim grooming gangs in the UK and Finland led to suicides by their victims.

The dead include Charlotte Tetley who sat down on the tracks and waited for a train after begging the NHS for help. Charlotte had suffered severe trauma after being groomed by the Pakistani Muslim members of the Rochdale grooming gang. The police, who had been accused of a cover-up in the sex grooming gang case, refused to look for her before she killed herself.

Euthanasia is the easy and simple solution to all these awkward cases that raise questions about the complicity of the authorities in the mass migration and rapes across Europe.

Muslim mass migration has sent rapes skyrocketing across Europe, and the authorities now have the ability to efficiently dispose of the victims in a hospital setting before they make too much noise. There is a price to pay for everything and leaders like Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez have decided what the price is and who will pay it. It will not be the Afghans, Somalis and Algerian Muslim migrants, but the girls they rape and discard in the streets of Spain.

The state will legalize the migrants and kill the girls.

Sanchez claimed that he’s welcoming mass migration because “the West needs people”. The West has people. It has people like Noelia. It’s killing them to get the people that it wants.

The people who will do to the West what they are doing to its girls and its children.

Some say that mass migration is national suicide. That’s not true. It’s national euthanasia.

[Rocket Red] 1 loonie

[johnlw] I'm old and slow, expand on Boolish Wheel?

[Rocket Red] all take a Boolish Wheel and be happy be a triple

[johnlw] Perfect!
