OK... What the heck is taxi ranting about now? towncars.com I am involved in starting the world's foremost transportation network. I am beginning by using my contacts here in LI NY to get this venture off the ground. You guys (here on SI) have convinced me that there are more intelligent ways to do business with intelligent and informed consumers. The transportation industry is low tech, and in some cases changes to hi-tech are becoming neccessary. There are a few people out there that are trying to integrate technology into dispatching vehicles immediately through the www.. This effort will take forever to get done, and immediacy is needed only by unprepared people. I will not discuss the tenets of what is wrong with this method, because I don't wanna give away my proprietary secrets before they are implemented on a grand scale. The website above does not have any html.. or anything on it today. I purposely put this thread here to show the development of a business from the ground up... thru the internet and savvy marketing. Please give me any of your thoughts and ideas, i will discuss the merits of each stage of development as they occur.. hey ya never know... This could go public and you guys can sell me short later... But for now we are discussing the viability and success of starting a business on the web. I will give links on the home pages for credit to any and all that wish to help me build the site. I will offer deep discounts to my friends here on SI on any hourly based rides... basically I will give it away at cost, to SI'ers because your input is needed. Also I may actually pick you guys up personally when you come to JFK or LGA (forget Newark, you will hafta pay me for that ride!) just to meet and greet you. I will be in atlanta for a week in the beginning of the summer/ late spring. I will also post fax, PO Box info as I develop the infrastructure.
