(Dow Jones)--International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) agreed to use ParkerVision Inc.'s (PRKR) wireless technology to make wireless personal computer peripheral products. The agreement also extends to the co-marketing of Intergrated Circuits chips, utilizing ParkerVision's technology, to other computer peripheral device providers and to PC makers for incorporation into their products on an original equipment manufacturer basis, Parkervision said in a press release Wednesday. ParkerVision said its goal is to complete the development of its wireless chips to IBM's satisfaction and launch the products during early 1998. ParkerVision shares were up 3 5/8, or 19.6%, at 22 1/8 on volume of 353,600 shares. ParkerVision designs, develops and markets CameraMan automated video camera control systems and is engaged in the research of emerging wireless technologies.
