We've heard the rumours before but this one seems to be getting people's attention. The stock rose another $2 in intraday trading on large volume for this stock (750,000) The interesting thing about todays activity was that when the TSE requested Midland to give a statement about its stocks activity, they outright refused to give one. Fred Ketchen V.P. at Scotia McCload spoke about the stocks recent activity and when asked about Midlands refusal to comment he said that this usually means something is about to happen. Meryll Lynch is the company which is rumoured, along with CT Financial and PowerCorp Financial. The expected price is around the $35 range.
