COX COMMUNICATION (C0X):

I don't mean to be disrespectful by starting a new thread.
Original thread: Subject 11755

I believe things have changed since the last one was started. After realizing we have less bills coming in to our home and the money that we used to pay to AOL and Pacific Bell now goes to COX, I felt that a new thread was in order. We are receiving much better services & service for half the price. I feel for the first time, I'm getting my monies worth.

Cox is more than just a TV cable company:

1. COX TELEVISION
New Converter Box & Programming:
On Screen menu driven', IBM compatible M/B'in, One touch recordin', Starsight programin', CD Quality Music Channelin', more features that can be explored in a day... ARR ARRR ARRR!!!... Converter Box.

Serious power for your TV! Screen-in-screen option. 999 channels max. We have too many to count! We have many Music Choice, Pay Per View, YCTV, 6 CiniMax, 8 HBO, 6 Showtime and adult channels. Was just told, they are adding more soon. Ohh ya, this thing auto-downloads the latest info every night. The Music Channels are CD quality and hooks up to my surround sound system. You can re-arrange the channels so that groups like SCI-Fi are all together. You can search for any action, drama, etc. movies playing for weeks to come and mark them with "One Button" to record when they come on (without the TV on). Hmm, while writing this, I just found 2 more HBO's!

All this and it doesn't interfere with my @Home cable modem.

2. @HOME (ATHM)
Wideband Internet Access:
Nothing faster on the net. You've heard of it, you probably own some shares. So does COX! COX is one of three original cable companies that are in with ATHM. The others are: AT&T (TCI take-over) and Comcast. Anyway, when you select your Netscape Icon, your in the Web! No dial up, no busy signals, EVER!!! It doesn't use a telephone line, so you never get kicked off when a family member tries to use the phone. The net truely feels like an extension of your PC. Very, very fast, download 30MB in a couple minutes. There are COX vans all over the place working hard for us, ensuring we made a wise investment!!!

One user's experience with the setup (much like my own with COX@HOME)

3. PHONE
Digital Phone Service
Before, our average telephone bill from Pacific Bell was $200 for 2 telephone lines. Now we pay COX $100 for 3 lines. COX has their own long distance carrier, Sprint (FON). No more nagging phone calls from those 2 competitors during dinner every night.

COX charges .05c for anywhere in California (same state) and .10c anywhere in the United States anytime, anywhere, no restrictions.

The telephone line outside the house is digital. Inside it's the same analog. They come over and install a converter box (we have 2) at your telephone access box. This converter changes your old telephone line to new digital out to the street. There are some noticeable differences though. When you call 411 you get Cox Information, not that old lady like before ; ). The other difference is the price. We pay half, yes « what we used to pay and we have 1 more line! We looked into getting a third line before from P. Bell and the setup was $1000 for our house, Cox cost was less than $10 dollars.
