Introduction Compact
CCB is a blue-chip mid-cap regional bank stock that has been a stellar performer for years (consistent share price appreciation not to mention approx. 40 consecutive years of dividend increases. The stock recently split 2-for-1 and is back around $55 post-split.

It is often the target of takeover speculation from a larger bank such as Sun Trust (STI) which needs to fill a gap in the NC-SC area...CCB would make a perfect fit. Of course, CCB has been somewhat aggessive in buying up smaller banks themselves, so it will be interesting to see how long they are the buyer before they eventually (one would assume) get gobbled up themselves...

In the meantime, buy some shares, sit back and relax !!!!
