Seeing how 1999 is rapidly approaching, this is about the right time for people to pound the table for their best picks for the new year.

The last few years on SI have been notable for some of the most well-thought out posts on stocks I have ever read. Also, there has been more than a fair share of speculation, exaggeration and outright deception on the part of many an SI member. However, what struck me is the quality and depth of some of the analysis that goes on unseen around here.

What I'd like to start is a message board where YOU become the analyst for your favorite pick of the year. I don't want a simple two sentence "This is a great stock and it's going up". Rather, I want an in depth analysis of the company, its business, its current financials and valuation, its future prospects (including the relevant competition) and what makes the company such a great buy. Please try to use accurate numbers and cite sources wherever possible.

It should preferably be a small cap that has some decent earnings history and a small float. But, ANY type of company will do...just not stocks pulled from the OTC bulletin board.

This is not, however, the place to discuss the merits of your analysis. I hope that discussion takes place on the SI thread for that particular stock (please include the link in your post). I would like this to be a place where people can screen a lot of new, solid ideas without having to sift through millions of irrelevant low yield posts.

How does that sound to everyone? Well off we go...who's first?
