Yes, it's Kevin McCullough, of CNBC. Here's his picture:

cnbc.com

Anyone who has gone to Televsion Personality College knows that you're not supposed to say "Uh..." on the air. But Kevin does.

A lot.

In fact, I believe we can use the number of times he says it to predict market movement in stocks.

Example: Kevin does "Stocks to Watch" in the morning, these segments usually last a couple of minutes. This morning, at around 7 a.m., he was talking about 3Com, and he said "Uh" 34 times in 2 minutes! I believe this is a new personal best for Kevin!

Looks like COMS is toast today.

Also, he occasionally interviews CEOs. He says "Uh" a lot when the stock is ready to go down. I think the more "Uhs Per Minute (UPMs); the more downward pressure on the stock.

If he starts talking about the market in general, I'm guessing we could have an indicator that would work just as well as the Allan Greenspan Briefcase Indicator. Maybe even better!

You might ask how someone that says "Uh" so much can get a job at CNBC. Let me know when you find out. And I'm not mentioning Bill Griffeth. Yet.
