This is a company that will be coming to market in May '99. It is local internet search engine that specializes in local advertising. They have grown very rapidly in the greater Toronto area and have just opened up offices in other major Canadian cities. Plans include expansion into the US market.

StarPages is a well-run company, headed by Michael Grenier who brought Star Data Systems (a Canadian real-time quote vendor for the Canadian brokerage industry) to market a few years ago, and subsequently sold it for a handsom amount.

What is impressive is that this is an internet company that is turning profits already (profit margins appear to be very high in this niche market).

Their website is www.starpages.com.

I'll post again when the IPO is announced.

L.
