Blackrock, Inc (BLK) went public on September 30, 1999. BLK is one of the 30 largest investment management firms in the United States with $131 billion of assets under management as of December 31, 1998. BLK offers a variety of investment products to institutional and individual investors in the U.S. and internationally. At year-end 1998, fixed income products represented 50%, liquidy products represented 38%, equity products represented 11% and alternative investment products represented 1% of total assets under management.BLK intends to pursue acquisition and joint venture opportunities and believe they can enhance stockholder values by adding scale, expanding product capabilities and strenghtening distribution.
Looks like a good, steady long term investment.
