LendingTree, Inc. 6701 Carmel Rd., Ste. 205 Charlotte, NC 28226 Phone: 704-541-5351 Fax: 704-541-1824 lendingtree.com LendingTree has set down roots on the Internet amid a forest of other online loan operations. The company, which bills itself as a loan market, lets consumers complete one loan application that is shopped around to multiple lenders. (Among the 90 or so participants are such major lenders as BANK ONE, Citibank, and Chase Manhattan.) Customers select the lenders that offer the most favorable terms for their mortgages, credit cards, or home equity, auto, or personal loans. The service is free to consumers but LendingTree charges lenders transaction fees upon transmitting the loan application and again when the loan is closed. It also licenses its proprietary close software to competing loan markets.
