apparently at the moment if i try replying to any message i get the Cannot write to database error, but i can create new threads so here is my reply In reply to Message 13982354 I cannot just reply cause i get the dreaded cannot write to database error Hi, If you're going to go for SEI level 3 (CMM) then it would take about 2.5 years to do it right. But probably it could be done quicker as a stop gap measure. You would have to interview people to see how they do it now and get it down in writing. If you had no interruptions, a big chunk of money backing the effort, buy in from management and programmers, authority to implement controls, and the authority to modify and enforce the process you could probably do it in about 1 month. But realistically it would probably take several months before everyone would buy into it. And then many more months to get it all working. A lot of people get scared when organizations do this because it surfaces what it is that they do and are afraid of job security issues. Its often difficult to get buy in from mgmt and the developers. Mgmt often won't want to spend the money and the developers see it as an unnecessary bit of documentation that they didn't used to have to do. I'd be willing to head up such an effort. | ||||||||||||
