Introduction Compact

Datek, my broker of seven years, had a few technical issues on Dec 5th and 6th which resulted in missed opportunities for this active / sometimes day trader.

Time to go elsewhere. I think they have been eating too much of that salmon.

Could not log on and trade either day!!! Slow and corrupted like it had a virus.

It was a horrible experience; on line or by phone. They were unable to handle the traffic.

And then they offered me TWO (2) free trades as compensation. Ha!!! My forced paper trades those days would have netted me HUNDREDS of free trades!!!

So, since then I have been looking at all kinds of data services and other brokers but there are sooooo many to choose from.

Tradestation, Cybertrader, Realtick, Esignal, DTN IQ, and on and on...............

I'd appreciate any tips. Looking for a direct access platform - my guess is that software based versus web based would be better for quick executions.

Are there any sites or message boards/forums reviewing these services???

Please educate me on any of your experiences.
