Gold Fields Limited to List on the New York Stock Exchange JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, April 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gold Fields Limited (Nasdaq: GOLD, JSE: GFI) is pleased to announce that it will, on May 9, 2002, list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Gold Fields will trade under the ticker symbol GFI -- the same as is used on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange where the Company's primary listing is held. The Company will list American Depositary Shares (ADSs), administered through The Bank of New York, with one ADS representing one ordinary share. Commenting on the intended listing, Chris Thompson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gold Fields, said, "This is an important step, especially for our North American shareholders who will benefit from the greater visibility and improved liquidity offered by the New York Stock Exchange." Gold Fields will de-list from the Nasdaq Stock Market, where its ADSs currently trade, at the open of business on May 9, 2002. Gold Fields is one of the largest gold producers in the world with a market capitalisation of approximately R65 billion (US$6 billion) and production of approximately 4.5 million ounces of gold annually from operations in South Africa, Ghana and Australia. The company has proven and probable reserves of 84.5 million ounces. It also has a 51% stake in an advanced stage exploration project, the Arctic Platinum Partnership, in Finland.
