We recommend the purchase of Blockbuster Inc. (BBI @$15.50). BBI is a retailer of rentable home videocassettes, DVDs and video games, with close to 8,500 stores in the United States and 28 other countries as of 12/31/01. For the three months ended 3/31/03, revenues rose 14% to $1.52 billion. Net income before acct. chg. rose 29% to $84.9 million. We estimate BBI will earn $1.32 per share on revenue of $6.2 billion this year and $1.52 per share next year. Projecting an average earnings growth rate of 15%, we estimate BBI's current PEG ration to .78x, substantially below those of its peers'.
