Industry’s First Dual Core ASIC/DSP Continuing on Acacia’s leadership in developing high performance ASICs/DSP’s, Acacia has developed the industry’s first dual core ASIC. This ASIC supports two optical channels that can each support QPSK or 8QAM or 16 QAM modulation modes. Supporting over 1.3 billion transistors this could be the most dense coherent ASIC / DSP in 28 nm technology. Furthermore, the ability to choose from multiple modulations formats including QPSK, 8QAM, and 16QAM enables our customers to optimize the reach, spectral efficiency and cost of their systems Acacia’s dual core ASIC which is used in the AC400 product also supports has multiple Soft Decision FEC algorithms fined tuned for both Submarine networks as well as for Data Center Interconnect networks. Our FEC provides industry leading soft decision FEC performance and an additional performance gain through absolute phase encoding. Continuing on leveraging Acacia’s leading low power techniques, this ASIC is one of the lowest power ASICs in the industry. Continuing on the lowest power ASIC that we use in our CFP product, we are less than half the power of competitor’s ASIC. | ||||||||||||||
