Lots of talented people on SI, why not show off?
1. Post your best photos here. One photo per post. 2. Recommend others people's photos that you really like. 3. I'll start adding the photos with at least 5 rec's to the header, to a maximum of 50 photos. 4 If the thread gets a following, will probably have to raise the number of recommendations to get to the "Header Gallery". 5. After there are 50 photos in the header, will just move them up based on the most rec's.
I'm pretty busy, so at some point this could become tedious and I might pass the moderator responsibility to someone else. Just thought it was a good idea... something I would enjoy.
BTW, feel welcome to include any when, where, why, with what at which exposer, or nothing at all. Sometimes the details make a photo special, and sometimes they stand alone much better.

Well, I am grateful to say I have no pictures of destruction, somewhat wistful that I have no adorable 3 year old children, and no canine buddies but I have a very regal cat. (Actually 4 but I won't bore the once again entirely male population with "kitties").

A few miles up the road from me is Beacon Rock, in the Columbia River Gorge. I was walking up the side of it one day, about 10 years ago, and snapped this with a basic digital camera. All on automatic settings. I have no idea how to adjust settings.

Again from Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge, but this time from the river below, in my kayak. I have other shots w/o the kayak in it, but I intentionally left part of the kayak in the frame for this shot. I've never seen the river this glassy, before or since.
