A New Dawn for Barack Obama's USA

With the swearing in of President Barack Obama, we hope we will once again consider ourselves as Americans instead of Republican or Democrat. On this swearing in day of 2009, the following poem by Nobel Laureate Tagore serves as a backdrop:
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high Where knowledge is free Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls Where words come out from the depths of truth Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sands of dead habit Where the mind is led forward by Thee into ever-widening thought and action Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake
And then these famous words from poet Robert Frost, something very apt on President Obama's desk:
The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
We wish President Obama every success. ===================================
Posters on this board are welcome to shower accolades or criticize the Obama Administration. Disagreement is welcome. But disagreeing in a dignified way is cherished and is a requirement of every poster.
New posters are always welcome. If they are unsure of the thread ettiquettes, the posts of the past six months should serve as a guide.
So here we go. Koan has the distinct honor of post number 49220, the last post before midnight (ET) of January 19/20, 2009. |
