Return to Biotechnology Value Fund, L.P.

This thread, established 1/31/98, is about Mark N. Lampert, his investments, his method, and his history.
All other contributions are strongly discouraged.

Lampert has taken a recent bath. Nonetheless, the guy has, IMO, great taste. In the future, I expect his
name to be mentioned in the same breath with those of Soros, Buffett, etc.

Please be aware that I am outlining chapters (a book?) on the history of investment in biotech, and that I
may integrate any contributions to this thread into my effort.

I would very much appreciate it if everyone that reads this post and elects to bookmark the thread prior to
Monday, 9 February would check in with a "reception book" post. We're in the "Coffee Shop" rather
than the biotech forum for a reason (networking and the avoidance of "my favorite company is XXXX" crap). You can lurk all you like. A "check in" post need not
indicate an intent to contribute in the future, but PLEASE check in. Analysts, reporters and others that
make a living from lifting, without attribution, the insights of others.... we all understand that there is a role
for such activity, and we all post knowing that concepts will be public and available. Please have the
decency to log-in or to leave us alone. As a reward, I will compile a list of all who check in during this first
week and selectively distribute some email updates to those individuals only.

To start........ please list any positions that BVF has, if you know of any, that are under the 5% stake
which triggers a SEC filing.

Disclaimer: I've never communicated with, met, or worked for Lampert.

Go!

Rick
