The following introduction to Wave Systems is a quote from the CEO:

"The vision of an industry standard for security has been forming for years. We are now on the cusp of its fruition, with shipments of TPM-enabled computers having reached a critical mass to where users can "flip the switch" and recognize the benefits that come from cutting-edge security hardware welded right to the motherboard of their computers. Powerful software is now available to leverage the increased protection, introducing a whole new era of security. Hacker's jobs are about to get a lot harder-with improved security built in directly, computers can finally more effectively secure and protect themselves."

Wave Systems Corp. (http://www.wave.com ) is playing a significant role in the new paradigm of hardware security for esktop computers that uses hardware chips to better integrate security within the new software security structure that Microsoft is building in cooperation with the Hardware promoters in the TCG.

Wave's current utility software is for protecting keys. Wave has spent the last 15 years building designs for better hardware to protect applets. It will play a significant role over the next decade in improving global network security, evolving solutions to the center and the edge of the network. This will provide easier use of PKI, authentication, attestation, digital signing, password protection and a myriad of web services. These services cannot be developed without the interoperable trusted technologies combining hardware and software security which Wave Systems has been developing since 1988.

Wave Systems Corp. is building the infrastructure and services to enable the deployment and management of trusted computing platforms. The services and infrastructure are designed to be flexible and deliver solutions within the framework of such industry initiatives as the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) (http://www.trustedcomputinggroup.org ) and other security initiatives recently launched by Intel and Microsoft.

The TCG will develop and promote open industry standard specifications for trusted computing hardware building blocks and software interfaces across multiple platforms, including PC's, servers, PDA's, and digital phones. This will enable more secure data storage, online business practices, and online commerce transactions while protecting privacy and individual rights.
