Return to Al Gore vs George Bush: the moderate's perspective

BRUTUSDOG TO VOTE FOR AL GORE

As a moderate and a person greatly interested in the outcome of this election, after a great deal of thought and after reading thousands of posts on this and the GW Bush thread, have decided that I cannot vote for GW Bush.

The final straw in my decision was the attack ads run by an unknown third party that were similar to the "Daisy" ads run in 1964 by LBJ. I am aghast at the covert activities of these third parties that last made their presence felt during the primaries when they ran ads attacking McCain's stand on breast cancer in New York.

Bush has powerful allies. These people have been attempting to purchase the Presidency for Bush from beginnings of his campaign. This terrifies me. It should also terrify you.

I was a McCain supporter. I was unhappy with Bush's behavior during the primaries and thought that his campaign landed some low blows against an American hero. However, I planned to keep my mind as open as possible coming into the election. I was giving considerable thought to a vote for Bush, until I was reminded of the occurances in the Primaries.

I hope that you will also rethink your vote if you intend to vote for GW Bush. Heseems to be a decent man, but it is the unknown variables of who is pulling the strongs that worry me and prevent me from placing a vote for GW Bush. We, at least, know with Gore we are getting man with the experience a President needs to effectively lead and not let a group of unknowns pull his strings like so many puppeteers.

Thank you,

BrutusDog.
