Negative synergy — Synergy is the creation of a whole greater than the simple sum of its parts. It is commonly assumed that synergy has a positive outcome. In reality synergy can apply to interactions that cause negative consequences, the result of which is greater than the sum of its parts. Thus, we have negative synergy.
Energy, climate change, population growth, resource depletion, environmental degradation are parallel trends, on the rise. Their collective impact is changing our lives; future effects will be profound.
Fundamental changes in ideation influence populations directly and indirectly.
In the overview, recent events and those of the last decade are consistent and predicted: slow decay -- national and social disaggregation, climatic events, polarization, geopolitical stressors, dominance of capital, increasing socioeconomic disparity, mass migrations, and more.
