Beta test of a new feature

I have a new feature in beta (WSM) and I expect loads of problems initially while determining server needs, upload times etc., but here's the link,
wallstreetmonitor.com

This (RTTO) will be primarily a real time technical alert site with some real time news and comments tossed in.

This is the first day (November 1st) so there are no previous pages except those that were formed today.

However when page one fills up (25 entries) then click a button next to "now" in the upper right to see previous entries or pages from earlier in the day.

I do not expect that site to significantly alter my participation here as I streamline automatic uploads etc., in the coming days.

That site gives me a venue to put out more info than I can do here but I will still bring alerts here that I feel are applicable.

Anyway as I say, it's in beta test and will undergo some changes and will not be running full speed for awhile. The tutorials have to be redone and better examples put in etc.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD REMAINS THE SAME

Disciplined short term trading - that will be my focus on this thread. Adherence to the dictates of the charts with an eye on fundamentals, earnings and news, should be our goal.

This is primarily a technical site, because the willingness and discipline to exit on breaks of trendlines and support, precludes the rigid reliance on fundamentals. However, when the opportunity to play a fundamentally sound stock, on a technical basis, presents itself...it becomes a more attractive alternative to playing a less sound stock.

Towards that end, I would hope that this thread does not strictly limit itself to tech plays. There's a world of other stocks out there as well.

Trendlines, defined support and resistance, volume, candles...will tell us when to exit a trade.

Exits are the key to success. You needn't enter at the bottom for a successful trade but you have to exit at an opportune time, be it to take profits or prevent further loss.

Merely hoping that a stock comes back (without basis) is a losing proposition.

My participation on this thread will be to try and bring stocks to attention that have shown, through an important combination of indicators, the apparent potential for near term upside.

As some of you know I have recently started a website. That site and this thread are 2 different things and I will keep them as separate as is feasible. That site, out of respect for subscribers, is where the bulk of my attention and effort will go, particularly in the afternoons and evenings as I update it. The free portions of that site will be referred to with some frequency here.

I will not however, use this site as a spamming device for that site. And the posters here should, by and large, be free of that as a major distraction.

It's not important that this thread become popular or hot. I'd rather it did not. It is important that it remain respectful and cognizant of differing opinions, free from spam and hype, with one simple goal, to use information and technical indicators to help each other make money. The fruits of that labor can in turn be used to help family and friends and those in need.

A few, thoughtful posters giving reasons for their short term stock opinions, should be the goal of this thread and it's participants.

If it works, we should all profit handsomely, even in this very difficult market. If it doesn't work, we will have tried.

One more point I'd like to make. A lot of people are averse to shorting. That's a mistake, when a stock has obviously paused, there's no shame in going short on it, nor is there anything sinister in recognizing when a stock has moved too far too fast,

To survive this market we should use all tools at our disposal, no need to shun things that work,

Cooperation and respect. Let's try it.

I've compiled a list of tutorials and links here at my website, that I think are very helpful, in addition to some daily comments on exchange (index) charts and a couple of stocks charts I find interesting. Those parts of the site are free.
