Immediately following the 2004 elections, this thread changed its name to keep alive the aspiration of all those who continue to believe that the US would be better off without President George Bush.
Bush's ratings have plunged precipitously within a year. And today, Thanksgiving eve, the nation has much to thank for the news that US troops withdrawl will begin next year. Thanks to Cindy Sheehan, mother of a fallen hero and all those who stood shoulder to shoulder with her in the Texan heat outside the vactioning President's ranch. Thanks to Rep. John Murtha for listening to his conscience and speaking out against those very people he sided with earlier.
While we can rejoice at the thought of the troop withdrawl, we should feel proud that US democracy works. The mightiest of the mighty, the US President, can be forced to listen to the will of the people.
