The E-Mini Pit
If you currently trade, or are interested in learning to trade, the CME E-Minis, this thread is for you. As opposed to just another market direction discussion thread, our focus here will be on providing a traders resource of specific information on the E-Minis, including discussions of brokers, trading platforms, order types, trading methodologies, money management techniques, futures-specific tax issues, etc. In addition, please post your trades, but please include your reasoning, so we can all learn. Links to charts, articles, seminars, and other message boards dealing with E-Minis or futures trading are encouraged. Also, please check this original post from time to time to see any new links we post here and to check out The Post of the Day, which will be selected from daily contributions to the board. ______________________________________________________________ A Few Thread Guidelines:

TRENDLINES:(EDITED) The alternate theory is 2 points form a TL and a 3rd weakens it. Better if a pullback during an uptrend meets demand prior to hitting the TL. This establishes an acceleration because a new TL can be drawn at a steeper angle from point 2 to 3... than the TL from point 1 to 2. It's not possible to draw from 1 to 3 without cutting through some pricebars but that might be ok too. An exception to this rule that more than 2 points weakens a TL is probably best illustrated with flags. Since they're relatively small patterns it's not unusual to find supply and demand coming in at precisely the same points as the TL's that define it.
This whole business of using TL's is more art than science although I've seen a few solid methods for their use I've not worked through the tests to determine their validity but have a couple I still want to test. Betcha I never get around to it though. I've had the data way too long and haven't yet! : )
Accelerations may be more difficult to understand and work with than steady velocity TL's but they define trend in the long run whereas the multi-point TL's ....? ______________________________________________________________ Key Links for E-Mini Traders:
