"Market Gems,' focuses on stocks with strong fundamentals and stock action. We look for strong revenue growth and strong earnings growth where we think its going to last through to intermediate holds. The purpose of this thread is to post "Daily Watch Lists", which are geared to short term traders (2-5 days),position traders (up to 1 month), intermediate term trader (1-2 months).
We also find stocks with superior technical strength that have "pulled back" for a short rest. We build up 'watch lists' of stocks that are strong according to some of these criteria: 8/17/9 day MACD Histogram breakout, Relative Performance 1 week, Moving Average breakout, On Balance Volume, Momentum breakouts, Triangle Breakouts, Cup & Handle Breakouts, Double/Triple Top Breakouts, etc.
These watch lists are not meant to be tracked for daytrades unless they hit their price targets intraday (ABOV,BYND, GNET, INKT,DLJ,TOM) etc. The stocks choose will be in most cases BOTH fundamentally sound and in a technical position for a move up. In other cases they will be momentum trades, stocks caught up in a strong uptrend.. (i.e. internet stocks)...
"Earnings Plays", are another one of the focal points of this thread. They afford very profitable trading opportunities. Quickening profit growth stands out as the best single predictor of a blowout price move. We will spot companies with accelerating earnings, and find the next big earnings play. These "Earnings Plays" will be placed on the thread as well.
