To all participants: Welcome to the Apple Inc. board on SI. This thread is now moderated. Here are the rules:
Anyone may disagree with the moderator or with anyone else. Bullish or bearish opinions about AAPL, and negative or positive opinions about Apple, Inc. or its products are fine.
Participants will be banned for being rude to the other people on the thread. That includes, but is not limited to, ridiculing them or calling them names. If you disagree with someone, feel free to express your disagreement. But do so in a civil manner. There is no reason to call people "stupid" or "crazy" or any other derogatory name.
When warranted, a ban may be imposed for being a general nuisance and/or disrupting civil discourse.
Violators will usually receive a warning, and a second offense may result in a ban. In the case of especially egregious violations, a ban may come without warning.
If you have been banned, but would like to be reinstated as a thread participant, it's simple, really. Send me a PM, agreeing to abide by the rules henceforth. The reinstatement will be conditional for ninety days, during which time the ban will be reinstated without warning if there are new infractions.
The above notwithstanding, the moderator reserves the right to keep a ban in place despite the user's request to have it rescinded, on a case by case basis.
It's all about having a civil discussion. Off-topic posts are OK, unless they violate the spirit of the rules as laid out above.
And hey, let's be careful out there.
NOTE: 9/21/2008 I have been informed by the management that SI policy prohibits any partisan discussion of politics on Forums that are dedicated to specific stocks. Please limit any discussion of politics to general comments on subjects directly related to Apple Inc. and its stock.
NOTE: At the request of a newer participant, I'm posting this link to Investopedia. It's a great place to look up any financial terms that might get bandied about on the thread, if you don't already know what they mean, or if you think you know but aren't sure.
