Return to INPR - Inprise to Borland (BORL)

Formerly known as Borland International, Inprise has risen from the ashes to become one the software industry's premier sources of tools and knowledge for the distributed computing pardigm. Borland's core software assets are based on emerging international standards.

These standards are strongly biased against proprietary technologies such as those being offered by Microsoft. Unfortunately, Microsoft
has had little success in patching and reworking its extremely archaic and brittle technology into a modern, distributed, component-based architecture capable of competing. Moreover, broadcasters, retailers and finanical institutions see the company as predatory and intrusive.

The enterprise door has been left wide open and the red carpet has already been rolled out for the new stars of information technology: intelligent, flexible, extensible, elegant and reusable software components and services based on CORBA and Java. Inprise will build on that base and compete above it with fully functional applications and support services.
