I have been reading about a lot of complaints in the usenet groups about crashes of the newer >1.6Gb WD drives. They reportedly have many bad sectors, esp when using SCANDISK. It is possible that the reason there are increased complaints, is that there are more sales, and therefore more potential problems. After reading about these problems for about 2 weeks now and watching the stock go up in a straight line, I decided to get out.
(probably got out too early based on technical analysis though)
Anyone else have any ideas or info about the failure rate of the WDC drives? |
