Since you left, your friends have missed you very much. Some of them are really devastated at the abruptness with which you went. However, there has been an outpouring of love and sympathy, and you would be pleased to know that you helped to bring SI together for awhile, with love for you, and sorrow at your passing.
Although we never had our dinner on the 4th of July, I watched the fireworks in Times Square and thought of you, lighting the sky too briefly, then falling into silence. Before I left for home, I went over to Brooklyn to look around where you lived. I forgot the address, and missed your precise neighborhood, but I will go back.
I am sorry that I could not make the funeral, but I had family obligations. However, I have been diligently finding information on the theater you supported, Blue Heron, and can report that we are pretty far along in trying to think of a fitting memorial contribution. I definitely have the pledge of a plaque in your honor, whatever the final gift goes to. I cannot finish negotiation until the dollar amount of the fund in your honor is clear.

People should be sure that they make it clear they are contributing to the Monica Timmons Memorial Fund. I have also consented, by PM, to take a few checks to "bundle" myself, for those who want extra insurance they are counted properly.
You would be surprised, Monica, at the response Neeny, shootie, and I have gotten so far. Of course, some people already contributed to Claudia's trip, or other things in your name, but we have had a real outpouring for this project, since people understand that it was a personal interest of yours. You sat on the board, the people running it were your friends, and you contributed to it. We have over $2500 on its way, by one route or another, and the promise of more. The more we raise, the more impressive the gift. The people I am in contact with, though, wish to accommodate us, since they were your friends too, and so I am sure that whatever we get will be nice.
Anyway, Monica, I thought you should know that your friends have not forgotten you.........
