I remember when I first started actively investing in 1988, my local bank had these GICs valued at $2000 that paid monthly an annualized returns of 12.5%, or about $20 a month. That was a sweet time. Little risk and no hustling for high returns. Sigh, I miss those days. Perhaps they are now coming back!
