Return to 4G - Wireless Beyond Third Generation

With IMT-2000 3G services still on the horizon, the industry is already looking to the next generation.

Nokia has said that "so far a new technology has yet to appear that constitutes enough of a step beyond third-generation wireless to gain the tag 4G, while end-user demands have also yet to warrant its commercial development".

Today 4G is a vision or a concept that is beginning to be discussed by governments, research organizations. and wireless vendors and until recently there has also been little in the way of standardization initiatives for 4G.

This thread is created for discussion of 4G - whatever 4G turns out to be - and whatever new investment opportunities it might create.
