Time marches on and M&A in the communication industry continues. On April 15, 2015 Nokia Corporation and Alcatel-Lucent announced:
Upon completion of the merger (or anytime earlier) which will make Nokia a networking and patent licensing powerhouse, former investors in Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) or followers of that company are cordially invited to participate in collegial discussion here on this Nokia board.
Update: On August 3, 2015, Nokia announced the sale of HERE to the AUDI AG, BMW Group and Daimler AG “Consortium.” Rajeev Suri, CEO of Nokia, cited in a statement that it’s the biggest step that the company has taken towards its complete transformation. Nokia will now focus on completing their Alcatel-Lucent aquisition previosly announed. Once the deals are concluded Nokia Corp. will be left with two businesses — Nokia Technologies and Nokia Networks.
