Return to Lake New Orleans

Hurricane Katrina represents the largest disaster in America's history. The story is still unfolding before our eyes. Many of us are frustrated by what we see. This thread is for venting that frustration.

Some of the goofy excuses we are hearing from both sides of the political fence are:

"We can't allow boats into the area due to 'live' power lines in the water."

"We simply don't have the manpower to conduct an adequate rescue."

"We are moving survivors from living on seats in the Superdome to Houston, Texas, where they can live on cots in the Astrodome . . .until December."

"All military, national guard and police are to stop rescueing souls and take to the streets to confront looters."

"We have a zero tolerance policy on looters."

"The National Guard is still on the way"

"We are still developing a plan for stopping the levee breach."

"We have stopped the evacuation of tens of thousands of refugees by bus, because a military helicopter was shot at."

Please comment on these and add your own. Both sides of every view is welcome. And we encourage everyone to vent their frustrations, yet treat all posters (regardless of opposing views) with respect at all times.
