All world markets reported sales declines from January 1998 to February 1998
Last year, global sales surged in the second and third quarters after a modest first quarter.
Data for the Global Sales Report was collected by World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), an organization that represents 70 companies. The WSTS also prepares semiannual forecasts for the chip industry and issues monthly reports on semiconductor sales by product and geographic region for subscribers
