As a Schwab customer and active trader for twenty years, I've always been impressed with the company's technology... it was among the leaders in electronic trading years ago with TeleBroker, then StreetSmart. The support and reliability were generally good. Recently, though, I've been disappointed. I've found their WWW trading & quote systems lacking, and they seem to be screwing up more and more - their systems crashed on Monday 4/20 and Tuesday, 5/5, during trading hours, and were crippled for hours - and no explanations or commission adjustments for poor service were offered.
I've got a whole list of gripes, and I'd like to encourage others to post their experiences as well. Hopefully, exposure of the problems on an influential medium such as the Silicon Investor will inspire Schwab to acknowledge its failures and take corrective measures. |
