It did always seem to me that the drop in the price of BORL was an exagerated over-reaction to the one quarter loss even when the magnitude of this loss is a bit over half a $. Even considering the overall bearish atmosphere surronding tech stocks at this time. It most be that the possible dilution due to the deal with Open is factored into the price at this time. It is also usual that a company before embarking on an acquisition, it tries to take a sizable position in the target company. If Borland did that we would be looking for less of a dilution. Finally, I have some guts feeling that the ML purchase of 10% of Borl, either it has something to do with the deal with Open, or someone is preparing to take over Borland. There is "the mystery of the 10% purchase by ML" to be resolved. Any Hercules Poirot here? Ghassan.
