The only cruise I,ve ever gone on was a computerized rotating mast sailboat that didn't use sails, instead the masts were airplane wing -like. Very small (only 72 cabins- all the same- all first class). The headcount of ship staff to passengers was almost 1 to 1.Best part was breakfast and dinner were provided and you could start off with mimosas and top the night off with unlimited french cabernet red.

I accordingly don't remember much, except it was first class. It's itinerary was St. Chroix, St. John ,St.Martin with a play day on an uninhabited island which included a ship wreck scuba dive.(I'm a certfied diver however my wife wasn't and they gave her really quick pool lessons and she enjoyed a surface dive)

Now that I've described the trip I think I want to go again !

I also have family in chicago a sister-in-law in westchester and mother-in-law in bartlett. We visit every Xmas so if you want to break-in the new year in chicago we should get together and party

These are tough decisions - I know you'll do well !

I'll look for a web site the name of the cruise was Windspirit they have several lines .

Bob

Edit: found their web page at www.windstarcruises.com I am by no means an expert but it was expensive and fun - a good way to break in the new milenium!
