Hi Bernie, I agree entirely that the short side of the market along with Margin buying isn't something the average investor should even consider. It's way too much like market timing. History says that the short side has only worked for short periods infrequently. I've never done either and seem to have managed to do just fine AIMing the long side with only my own cash reserves.

I'm not sure the added risk could ever pay back in reward on a consistent basis. My reply to Keith was that, yes, one could use AIM on the short side. I hope it wasn't taken as a recommendation. Hanging is a way of dying, but I don't recommend it either! :-)
