At our house this a.m. the answer was BOTH!! Hubby sprayed the cleaner on, and I came back and used the brush later. Hubby is on crutches right now, so his balance isn't good for leaning over, otherwise he would have done it.

p.s. hubby waters the grass off the deck when we are sitting outside having a few cold ones. Only after dark though.
