>>>buying a handgun for protection and never shooting it until someone breaks in a bad case. by not being familiar with the weapon you are looking for trouble.<<<

Whole heartedly agree! Panic situation, usually in the dark, even those that "kind of know" thier weapons have problems. Ever notice cops that score perfect on the range often miss in actual fire fights??? I had the deepest respect for the fellow airman stationed up at Fairchild AFB when that guy got on base and started shooting up the hospital. The cop was riding a bicycle, peddled up to the hospital out of breath, took aim with his 9mm and did a couple of three round bursts as taught. He scored a head shot and 3 fatal chest shots from over 100 Yards. Now that is amazing.

Hey if people prefer 9mm, OK. I had the worst home defense handgun in the world for years, a 357 Redhawk. Well known for going through the intruder, the walls, the neighbors etc. I had to handload light rounds using 158 gr hollow points and only 5 gr of Red Dot shotgun powder (mixture from memory, don't try loading it without referencing a manual)

It actually was a very accurate round but when I tried it in my Eagle with the 357 barrel on it, it didn't have enough kick to chamber the next round.

My point about the 9mm was the lighter rounds and short barrels are the ones that most street gangs prefer. Guns like the 25 auto with 1 inch barrels that by the time the round is chambered is really a 1/2 barrel are only good for sticking in someone's ribs and pulling the trigger.

Need to figure out this market some more, Good Luck and thanks for the responses all,

EDIT - Lets hope this sell off doesn't push someone over the edge and give the anti gun people more canon fodder.
