yes volume was elsewhere. many of my carefully sequestered semi stocks were mauled some more. not to worry. a worldwide meltdown is the only thing to fear. if that ever happens, i will be very happy indeed that i am living in the good old usa. we will be better off than anybody else. japan seems to be getting very stressed out.

<subject change> i noticed you live in maryland. i am in towson and have been exasperated with my phone support - breaks 7 or 8 times a day, fast and slow busy signals when trying to reconnect, and an outage for 18 hours past weekend. NO, i am not an aol subscriber! i think the problem more likely lies with bell atlantic than my isp. finaly i took the big step and ordered the comcast@home service. no more dialups. speeds are 55.8 times faster than 28.8 modem and 12.6 times faster than isdn. the monthly cost is only twice what i am currently paying for unlimited use by x2 modem and local dialup - and the x2 card never has gotten more than 32+ with 28.8 more likely. another benefit is getting my phone back while on the internet! pretty good deal return in these times.

good luck
