Hi Dave,

I've got a question for you:

In your experience, when has using the Bollinger Band been more of a liability than an asset to you? When one agrees with the assumption that a close outside of a bollinger boundary is one that is either overbought or oversold, one finds that following such a rule will leave the participant out of any extreme run-ups as well as declines.

Base breakouts are sometimes followed up by extreme buying power, but it is these kinds of events that the participant wants to be a part of, not be left out. Do you find yourself discounting the readings from a B.B. under different circumstances?

Regards,

Rainier
