So many indicators, so little time!!! With the zillions of indicators (and variations thereof) which are part of any TA package, a person with a day job would be hard pressed to really put them through the wringer and come away with a group of indicators that you feel give the most dependable signals for their intended purpose. Just sticking to the common indicators and settings that "everybody else uses" may not be giving the best results. Here, we'll devise, develop, and test custom indicators, and "twist and mix" some of the more common indicators around to see if we can improve the results. All types of indicators are fair game (TREND, VOLATILITY, MOMENTUM, MARKET STRENGTH, CYCLES, LINE STUDIES). I think we'll all come away with a far better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each one, and be able to judge which indicators are appropriate for our individual style of investing. Trying to do this on your own is almost futile, plus you don't get the different viewing angles that I think this forum will bring.
It would be helpful if you have a web site where you can post your annotated charts and other formatted documents for the rest of the participants to review (free websites are available at www.geocities.com-you'll be up and running in about an hour...and it doesn't need to be fancy..just a place to post charts and formatted documents that everyone else can access).
