Partially true, especially at major universities.

But many of us were students of mentors then became mentors ourselves for analog IC design.

I've continued to mentor over the decades since leaving HP in 1998 and some of my subscribers from the first days have done so well, I get wonderful compliments. One told me he and his wife are using gains and profit taking to be their own angel investors to fund a program using AI to teach very disadvantaged youth to read where "the current system" in the mostly black, ghetto schools have failed. I have no kids that I know of but learning that the other day sure made me feel good.

I think a lot of parents who teach their kids the value of hard work AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY by example and expectations as well as how to treat everyone with dignity and respect are also excellent teachers.

Of course, in the general sense, most of the crap taught recently at major universities is the root of our problems.
