No split seems likely to me. Ebbers wants to continue to drive the stock (read earnings) upward to serve as WCOMs currency for future aqusitions. MCI and WCOM holders will enjoy the ride.

I like it that he sees his success tied to that of the price of the stock. This is a powerful force driving the entire market to record levels, not just WCOM. Rewarding stockholders with stock appreciation (not taxable dividends) is the new name of the game.

I was impressed with the Ebbers top management at the mci announcement. He used them appropriately and they knew their stuff: legal, financial, technical. Not yes men. I think the stock is going places.
