Alternate telling. Joe is sent to the local Catholic school because of his terrible grades in math. A couple of weeks after the switch he brings home an "A" in math. Delighted parents ask him if he likes math now. "No, I still hate it hate it", he replies. "But they take their math real seriously there. There's a guy nailed to a plus sign."
