The computer problems seem solved. The only thing I had left was a monitor issue, where when the window was maximized the window would fill up both monitors. There is a Matrox forum where tech support is quick, and they told me how to adjust for that; now everything works fine.
However, because I run so many programs simultaneously on this I put the Squawk Box on a back-up machine, although it works well on this one. Right now, for example, I have Tradestation, QPnF, QCharts, a neural net, LeoWeb, Excel, a database program and of course Netscape running here.
Actually, it's not much different than a lot of people, who often have several machines running at once. I do not need all the programs all the time, but I refer to them as the day goes on. For example, I have to go to Leo on and off so I need it running in the background.
I had no problem using it on either machine. After you run the set-up program, you go to cme.com and choose a contract, then hit the start audio button. That's all I did.
The "noise" is simulated. For example, if the size is 50 by 5 and someone takes the 5 you would hear a faint "buy 'em". On the other hand, if they hit the bid for 50 you would hear a loud "SOLD".
Sort of like verbal tape reading. |
