This issue of knowing when to fold em is really the KEY to success. Picking winners is hard but with enough work one can find them and SI is a pretty good tool for that but as far as I can see knowing when to fold em is still the art of arts. Templeton says sell when you have something else to buy that is twice as good a value. Others say sell half at a double or a third at a triple. Others follow momentum. Still selling too soon dooms your good choices and too late dooms your bad ones. Not an easy game..better than chess or poker and it will be a lot longer before the computers play this one better than the few real masters. These contests are an excellent way to learn by studying how the winning entries are picked and seeing how they do in the intermediate and long term as well.
